Mr Crockett

Hi! My name is Mr Crockett and I am Bee class teacher and the lead of EYFS and Year 1. I love being in Year R as we have lots of fun where we can explore and learn through our play. I love playing football and being active with my dogs Betty and Barney, and you’ll soon learn that I love reading, especially anything by Dr Seuss!

Mrs Dunkley

Hello. I’m Mrs Dunkley and I am Ladybird class teacher. I’m new to Tiger this year but have been working in Early Years for over 10 years. I love being able to see the children grow in confidence and enjoy learning. I love reading and helping the children learn to read. One of my favourite places to visit is Leeds Castle.

Mrs Rance

Hi, I’m Mrs Rance and I’m very lucky to be Mr Crockett’s TA. I’ve worked in Early Years for many years and enjoy seeing how the children mature throughout the year. I enjoy going on long walks with my dog Honey, gardening and going to the theatre.

Miss Gilbey

Hello, I’m Miss Gilbey, Ladybird TA. I also work in Breakfast Club and I’m the manager of Extended Day, so I’m kept very busy! Being in Reception is really fun, I love being able to explore with the children and I enjoy teaching phonics too! I like spending my free time with friends or family and I never say no to a shopping trip!

Our school day runs as follows:

Drop off time: 8:45am

Pick up time: 3:15pm

PE will be on Fridays for both classes and children will need to arrive in school in their PE kit.

This term, our topic is all about me. We will be exploring ourselves and our families and thinking about people who help us, especially our heroes!

We will also be beginning Read Write Inc phonics, learning to read and write new sounds and beginning to read and blend words.

In Power Maths, we are exploring numbers to 5 which focuses on children’s ability to recognise, represent and manipulate numbers to 5. Children begin by counting groups of objects up to 3, then 4, before looking at 5. Children will learn to recognise and count different representations of numbers up to 5 and use a five frame to help structure the counting and reasoning.

We will be giving out reading books for the children to take home and read with yourselves. We encourage children to read at least 5 times a week, which may only be one page but it all makes a huge difference. We also take part in Buster’s Book Club where children can become ‘Star reader of the week’, ‘Reading class of the week’ and also win prizes for their class. You can find more information on this in your child’s contact book.

Please make sure you also follow us on Twitter @TPS_Found. We will upload lots of pictures of the children in action at school, showing you exactly what we get up to!

We are very excited to be supporting your child on their learning journey over the coming year, and to be working with you as parents to give them the best start as we possibly can.
