Young Carers
A Young Carer is a child under the age of 18 that cares for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health and addiction problems. Young Carers are a vulnerable and disadvantaged group who frequently experience difficulties in their education as a result of their caring role.
Tiger Primary is strongly committed to our Young Carers. To this end we are currently working towards our bronze level 'Young Carers in School Award'. This means that we are implementing a programme of support to provide our Young Carers and their families with information and guidance relating to their individual circumstances.
We are also raising awareness of the Young Carers within our school community, and held a Young Carers Day in March 2021.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Miss Ormiston or Miss Dayson via the school office.
